In the last 2 years it has become apparent that the Internet would add to its list of uses the ability to affect political actions and voting. it is not as though this is a new phenomena but that recently it has reached a new height unlike any before. Now days we can literally find just about any public official on Facebook or Twitter and even Myspace. Whether or not this is a good thing is entirely up to the public and as this allows people to seem a little bit closer to said public official it could be the critical advantage needed to swing a vote in their direction. As Roosevelt did with the radio it would seem that anytime there is a new social medium, politicians will take advantage of the chance to make their followers feel a little bit closer. I’m not quite sure though is this would be something news worthy but apparently it has reached that point. As seen in the posted link below the ability to gain over one million followers on twitter has become news worthy. Even me writing about it shows that it means something to someone who cares little about how many people follow his blogs or twitter for that matter.

First attempt at a blog. We’ll see if these get better over time. Keep enjoying your summer everyone.
